The conjoined departments seek support to purchase space-efficient rolling benches to improve the percentage of space dedicated to growing plants. In the greenhouse industry, this practice is called improving the “green-to-gray” ratio. These rolling benches will allow faculty and staff to increase research, support better teaching (both plants for classes and hands-on learning inside the greenhouse) and support outreach through the K-State Gardens.
